How to get the best price on a DNA test
- Wait for a sale if you can. The major kits are discounted several times a year, and the biggest drops usually land between late November and Christmas.
- Check the total. Shipping, tax and return postage for the sample can add a surprising amount, especially outside the US.
- Watch for auto-renewing add-ons. Some bundles include a membership that renews automatically. Note the end date and cancel if you don't need it.
- Buying for family? Multi-kit offers can bring the per-kit price down significantly.
